DIY Gazebo Plans

Plumb the walls with a spirit level and make sure they are secured tightly in concrete. The gable roof can be build very quickly as you need to make a few angle cuts. However, place the rafters equally spaced, 24 inches on center, and lock them to the support beams using 4 1/2" screws.

As you can easily notice in the diagram, building the roof for a rectangular gazebo is a complex process, but the end result is unique and highly efficient for draining the water. Plan the slope of the roof according to your needs and proceed to cutting the rafters. Use a circular saw to make the angle cuts and drill pilot holes before locking them into place using galvanized screws.

Next, attach 3/4" tongue and groove plywood sheets to the rafters, making sure there are no gaps between the components. Use galvanized nails to secure the sheets into place. Install tar paper and last but not least fit asphalt shingles.
